The MoW Challenge

So in chatting tonight, Sue had this little nugget of awesome:

*sits down in a high-backed plush office chair, rubs hands together, looks out at the large board room table where all her twilight characters (that she borrowed from stephenie meyer with appropriate disclaimer) sit, waiting for her news.

Mel: Ok guys, I've been given "The Great Commission."

Emmett: *smiles goofily* are you going to own us now instead of Stephenie?

Jasper, Alice, Carlisle, Edward: *look at me with hope in their eyes*

Mel: *sighs* No, sorry guys, I'm still working on that. We need to get more reviews and readers before we can even think about approaching Steph with that idea.

Esme: Well, then, what's the commission, dear? Do I need to start cleaning the house for guests?

Alice: *bouncing* Ooh! Are we gonna throw a party?! I call dibs on planning! *whips out a small notebook and jots down ideas*

Mel: *looks to Jasper*

Jasper: *places a hand on Alice's shoulder and she calms down*

Mel: *nods* thanks, Jasper.

Jasper: *smiles* Anything for you, darlin'

Mel: *melts, then regains composure* Ok, here's the deal: Last night in MoW chat, Sue said a great quote.

Rosalie: *filing her nails, looking disinterested*

Emmett: Am I gonna get to do another SNL dance?!

Mel: Emmett, just wait.

Edward: Emmett, patience is a virtue.

Emmett: The only one here left with virtue is you, Eddie, because you won't let go of it.

Bella: *bangs fists on the table* Did you not read Breaking Dawn, Emmett?!

Emmett: *looks around the room* I thought Mel said we were gonna act like that didn't happen...

Rosalie: *swats Emmett on the back of the head* Shut up, dimwit, and let Mel speak, or I'm gonna ask her to write a one-shot about you dressing up like the New Year's baby in a large diaper....permanently.

Mel: *ponders, makes mental note* Ok, Cullens, seriously....

Jasper: *smiles* Go on, darlin'

Alice: *rolls her eyes* Jasper, I saw that coming.

Edward: Let the woman talk!

Emmett: *giggles*

Mel: So Jen...you guys know her--a few of you star in her fic "Just One of the Guys" ?

Edward: *smiles dreamily, reminiscing about Pinkie Porn and Bella in her X-men t-shirt"

Emmett: *frowns* Didn't I get punched in that one?

Esme: *gasps* Who punched my son?!

Mel: guys, we are getting off track, and other people are reading this... so.....

Carlisle: *takes a fatherly tone* Let's let Miss Mel speak.

Mel: *swoons slightly at the Good Doctor, who is in his lab coat, ready for the next chapter of "A Great Fall" (ooh, slight spoiler, sorry!)*

Rosalie: *looks up* Let's hear it. I've got a one-shot coming up and I need to go get some new clothes.

Mel: Jen has given us MoW ffic authors the commission to use Sue's quote in a one-shot. That's why I've called this meeting.

Jasper: Well, who did you have in mind? *leans forward, forearms on the table, dazzling me for the role*

Mel: Well, I thought I'd let you guys choose--you know what you're most comfortable with...

Edward: Mel, do you think you should give us so much free will?

Mel: are you gonna go bite anyone?

Edward: *looks offended, tightens grip around Bella* of course not! I just don't know if you should trust us so much.

Alice: Edward, get over it! I've seen the outcome--it'll be a truly classic LMW production. Has she ever made you look bad yet?

Edward: Well, Mel, I thought we should start to talk about where "A Great Fall" is going because I know Mandy had some concerns about my feelings and Angela was asking about anger management....

Mel: *gasps* were you reading minds again?!

Edward: *looks around* no, I was reading reviews.

Mel: *sighs* Ok, we can talk about the story later. But for now you guys, simmer on who wants the line, practice delivery, and then we'll have auditions in a few days, after my Twilight Convention.

Emmett: *smiles* I can't wait for you to meet Kellan, Mel--he's really awesome.

Mel: *blushes, due to Jasper's waves of emotion* Yeah, thanks Emmett.

Alice: I've seen it, Mel, you're gonna get a great picture.

Mel: ok thanks for coming, Cullens! Go practice!!

Cullens: *leave after waving and hugging*

*END SCENE*

So, that's about how it went this morning at my board meeting. Looking forward to seeing which Cullens show up for auditions! Keep you guys posted Thanks for the commission, Jen, and the quote, Sue!

Haha, same here...Maybe we'll extend until the end of May because...FML right now. School sucks ass. I'd forgotten how much I hate the last month of school, and this year is even worse.

So...new deadline. Stories should be posted by May 31st, and we'll begin voting June 1st. Work for everyone?
